Belle Plaine’s Chris Janss was one of nine players from District 5 to be named to the Iowa Newspaper Association’s All-State Football team recently. Janss, a tight end, was a third team selection.
Two players from district champion West Branch, offensive lineman Jack Rummels and running back Cole Kelly were named to the first team.
Second team members included running back Jacob Batterson of Eddyville-Blakesburg and defensive back Dalton Stone from Pekin.
Joining Janss on the third team were wide receiver Jacob Lafayette and quarterback Taylor Jacobsmeier from Wapello, offensive lineman Austin Adam of Pekin and kicker Brandon Young of West Branch.
