BP Police report

Feb. 8, 7:40 a.m. – Officers responded to the Hair Hut, where they assisted the owner in removing an unwanted vehicle from the parking lot.
Feb. 8, 8:09 a.m. – A vehicle was ticketed for being illegally parked, blocking a sidewalk, in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue.
Feb. 8, 12:15 p.m. – Vehicle unlock at 1407 12th Avenue.
Feb. 8, 7 p.m. – Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Department in investigating a report of two vehicles stopped in the middle of the road on Highway 21, north of the city. No vehicles were found.
Feb. 8, 8:30 p.m. – A harassment complaint was filed at 1409 12th Avenue. The incident is under investigation.
Feb. 9 – Police reported one vehicle was cited for violating the city’s snow emergency ordinance.
Feb. 9, 9:06 p.m. – Officers investigated a verbal domestic dispute at 701 10th Street. No arrests were made.
Feb. 10 – Five vehicles were cited for violating the city’s snow emergency ordinance.
Feb. 10, 1:30 p.m. – Ronald and Patricia Porazik, Belle Plaine, reported ongoing forgery via a checkbook stolen from them. The incident was referred to Waterloo and Evansdale police departments.
Feb. 11, 7:51 a.m. – Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Department with a one-vehicle rollover accident with injuries at 16th Avenue and 77th Street, just south of Luzerne.
Feb. 11, 8:29 p.m. – Riley Northup, 31, Belle Plaine, was arrested in the 700 block of 12th Street as officers were investigating a report of someone urinating in public. He was charged with public intoxication-enhanced and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Benton County Jail.
Feb. 12, 8:39 a.m. – Police responded to Belle Plaine Pharmacy on a report of criminal mischief. A door in a storage area had been damaged. The incident remains under investigation.
Feb. 12, 11:45 p.m. – Kyle Mumby, 19, Belle Plaine, was arrested at the Oasis Tavern for public intoxication following an anonymous report of underage drinking at the business. He was transported by Benton County Sheriff’s Deputies to the Benton County Jail.
Feb. 13, 9:26 p.m. – Officers responded to the 1500 block of Fourth Avenue on a report of two suspicious vehicles in the area. It was determined that one of the vehicles had lost control and landed in a snow bank and the occupants of the other car were attempting to free it. No charges were filed.
Feb. 13, 10:55 p.m. – Police investigated a report of an intoxicated underage driver in the vicinity of Zip Mart. Nothing was found.
Feb. 14, 5:14 p.m. – A stray dog was picked up at Subway and transported to Countryside Veterinary Clinic.
Feb. 15, 9:45 a.m. – Ambulance assist in the 400 block of Sixth Street.
Feb. 15, 9:44 p.m. – Acting on a complaint of loud music at 1307 Seventh Avenue Apartment 3, officers cited Nathan Thill, 17, of Belle Plaine for being a minor in possession of tobacco.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
