Belle Plaine’s two state tournament representatives ended their high school careers on an up note Saturday afternoon, as both won their final matches in the consolation round in Des Moines.
At 105 pounds, Zakk Buch beat Heath Nagel of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, an 8-0 major decision, to claim seventh place. Nagel, a freshman, finished with a 35-11 record.
At 125 pounds, Jack O’Brien claimed fifth place with a 4-2 win over Dillon Lorentzen of Logan Magnolia. Lorentzen, a junior, is 42-8.
