Library magazine collection benefits from donations

MidWestOne Bank recently presented a $300 donation to the Belle Plaine Public Library for the purchase of magazine subscriptions.
“We have about 80 magazines that are available for the public to check out,” library director Kristi Sorensen said. “We have a wide variety, from home and decorating, to travel, cooking, crafts, etc. We have Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Time, Newsweek, National Geographic, Consumer Reports. The New Yorker is our latest addition.
“They can be checked out for two weeks at a time. We also receive money from the Chelsea Bank and money from the Library Foundation goes to purchase some. We also have a couple patrons who purchase subscriptions for us.”
