Belle Plaine’s softball season came to a halt Thursday night, as Iowa Valley sidelined the Plainsmen, 13-2 in a six-inning regional opener at Belle Plaine.
The Tigers scored five runs in the second, five more in the third, one in the fifth and two in the top of the sixth. The Plainsmen scored their two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Belle Plaine, which was riding a six-game winning streak, ends the season with a 10-13 record. Iowa Valley moved to 22-9 overall, after tying Lynnville-Sully for the SICL Conference title with an 18-2 record.
