Irene Ann Gaffey, 87, of Belle Plaine and formerly of the Holbrook area, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness. A Memorial Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 26 at the Faith Baptist Church located at 1168 78th Street Trail, or east of the corner of 13th Avenue and 8th Street. Private burial will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established. Hrabak Funeral Home is serving the family.
She is survived by a son, Tim Gaffey of Belle Plaine; daughter, Karen Gaffey of Tiffin; granddaughter, Kiera Gaffey; brother, Frank Horwath of Walton Hills, Ohio; sisters, Mary Kaider of Uniontown, PA and Margaret Thomas of Jappa, MD.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Earlene Joyce Fisher, 77, of Belle Plaine died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center following a lingering illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at the Hrabak Funeral Home by Rev. Jack Andrews. Burial will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She is survived by a son, Rod and wife Julie of Belle Plaine; grandsons Allen, Danny and Jamie; great-grandchildren Star and Damien Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fisher, Jr., her parents, Earl and Margaret Rush and a sister, Alice Sichra.

Andrew J. Ericson, 83, of Belle Plaine died July 16, 2010 at his home following a lingering illness. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Lanny R. Fintel, 65, died Thursday, June 25, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 28 at the First Lutheran Church by Pastors Dean Duncan and Dr. Richard Osslund. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Hrabak Funeral Home and after noon Monday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Shawn (Karen) of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Sherri (Aaron) Hrabak of Cedar Rapids; brother, Rick (Pam) of Lytle, TX; grandchildren, Dakota, Eriq, and Jazmynn Fintel.

Dorothy E. Anderson, 85, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Belle Plaine Nursing & Rehab Center following a lingering illness. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday June 4 at the Hrabak Funeral Home by Rev Pete Hagglund. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
She is survived by her son – Mike (Norma) Anderson of Kimberling City, MO; daughter – Sharon Crandall of Milan, IL; sisters – Joyce Eyler of Belle Plaine and Patsy (Lumir) Houser of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son, Pat; brother, Rolland Auten; son-in-law, Donald Crandall.

LaVonne M. Kouba, 84, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer from complications of Dementia. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Christ United Methodist Church by Rev. James Campbell. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. She is survived by sisters, Evelyn (Kenneth) Feuerbach of Van Horne, Eleanor Andresen of Belle Plaine, Genevieve Kromminga of Keystone, and Beverly Wentworth of Mason City; brother, Duane (Marilyn) Konicek of Belle Plaine; special niece, Allison (Mike) Bachelder of Belle Plaine, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Konicek; husband, Milo; sisters, Violet Cox, Maxine Podhajsky, and Patricia Fry; and brothers, Marvin, Donald, and Harold Konicek.

Leona Frances Prusha, 90, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a short illness. Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Friday at the Hrabak Funeral Home with a scripture service at 6:30 PM.
She is survived by a son – Roger (Janet) Prusha of Belle Plaine; daughters – Jeanette (Wayne) Jensen of Guttenberg, Joanie (Wayne) Cassady of Cedar Rapids; sisters – Esther Thys of Belle Plaine and Marie Rusch of Englewood, CO; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
Leona was born on May 29, 1919, rural Hartwick, to Charles and Emma Polka Iezek. She attended and graduated from Hartwick High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Prusha on November 22, 1937 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chelsea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Sylvester, sisters – Ella Zradnachek and Lottie Hall.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Congregational UCC in Belle Plaine by Rev. Pete Hagglund. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hrabak Funeral Home.
Survivors include sons, Thomas (Robin) Danker and John Danker, all of Belle Plaine, David Danker of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Linda (Gerald) Muench of Luzerne, Patricia (Dan) Foley of Belle Plaine, Marsha (Steve) Vargason of Keystone; brother, Barry (Kathy) Markham of Cedar Rapids; sister, Billie Enns of LeGrand; also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
