Joseph A. Kolash, 80, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 4 at the Hrabak Funeral Home by Deacon Joe Behounek. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

He is survived by his son, Scott and wife Tammy of Belle Plaine; grandsons, Joseph and John; and special friend, Sue.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 1997 and his parents, Joe and Bessie Bartachek Kolash.

Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, April 16 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Vining. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 PM Friday at the Hrabak Funeral Home where there will be a Rosary at 6:00 PM.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Bonnie (Ed) Harrison of Cedar Rapids and Gina (Richie) Lawrence Sokol of Ankeny; brother Paul (Luree) Riha of Vining; sister, Vicki (Roman) Thome of Gilbertville.

Lillian Waterbeck, 91, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center from complications of age. Services will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 25 at the Hrabak Funeral Home by Rev. Jack Andrews. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday.

Lillian was born September 18, 1919 in Elberon, Iowa to Frank and Christina Raymon Karkosh. She married Leonard Waterbeck on November 24, 1941. Lillian was a homemaker and was active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Dennis (Mari Jeanne) Waterbeck of Fort Worth, TX; a daughter, Carol Waterbeck (David Urban) of Seattle, WA; sisters, Helen Hruby of Toledo and Vera Hruby of Tama; brother-in-law, Walter Waterbeck of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Frances Snyder of Cedar Rapids and Isabelle Waterbeck of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard in 1997; a brother, Louis Karkosh; and a sister, Mildred Cizek.
